Braids Galore

You know that feeling you get when you leave the salon? Your hair feels perfect and you think to yourself, "if only I could make my hair look this great every day, what's her trick?!"

This summer the fabulous Whitney Toll, a hair stylist at Sabai Salon in Broad Ripple helped our team style one of our editorial shoots.

We love braids and Whitney made it look so easy! She shared some tips and tricks with us to make your braids look like you just left the salon.

Tips from Whitney on braids
  • put a little pomade on your fingers to keep your braid smooth and in tact as you are working
  • you can use a pomade with shine or without depending on the look you are going for
  • parting and sectioning off your hair before you start braiding will give you much cleaner results
  • One of the tricks I used on the braid I did the other day for the shoot (pictured above) - I did a regular French braid but instead of bringing all of the hair into the inside of the braid I did an "outside braid" I made the braid look larger by using a rat tail comb to pull the edges of the braid out- this adds slit of texture and is great for fine hair so that the braid doesn't look too skinny
Here are some quick tutorials!

Delectable Detail

It’s the middle of September and we’re starting to think about what to add to our fall wardrobe. Although there will always be a place in our hearts for simple cardigans and cable knits it’s always fun to add a couple pieces with eye-catching detail!

We love our new detailed sweaters over leggings or with skinnies! They’re perfect for layering (our favorite thing to do in the fall) and staying cozy, as the temperature gets cooler!

Our Light Grey Crochet Back Sweater ($58.90 would look great paired with tall brown boots and a pair of our Dear John jeggings. Add a pair of boot socks (which we'll be carrying soon!) and you've got an adorable fall outfit.

Our Marble Black Zipper Sweater ($58.90) is a longer sweater that would look great over leggings! Pair it with your favorite moto boots and you're set!

Our Button Back Open Knit Sweater (Mustard or Burgundy, $68.90) are great for a casual look. Pair them with a pair of our Liverpool skinny jeans and a pair of brown booties for an outfit ready to take on any fall day.

Our Lace Back Baby Blue Blouse ($48.90) is a perfect casual-chic top! Pair it with our Dear John jeggings and ankle boots for a simply adorable lacy look!

All of these sweaters are available on our SquareUp store.

New Address, New Building, Same Lucky B

The storefront on Westfield Boulevard has been Lucky B’s home for 3 years.

This building has been great for us! It allowed us to grow and become the Lucky B that you all know and love! However, now we’ve outgrown our current home. We need more room for merchandise, office space, and a place to house our photo shoots!

This October we will have a grand re-opening at our new home on Broad Ripple Avenue! We’ll be between BeBe Gate and Niche.

Right now we’re working on renovating and decorating our new place! This past weekend we went in to start making our vision a reality. We got it all taped off and ready for the contractors who are starting today!

Not only are we celebrating a move, we’re also celebrating our 3-year anniversary.
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates about our progress. Also be sure to keep an eye out for an invitation to our grand re-opening/anniversary party!
